Questions that we are often asked

We have a customer that is always complaining and we are thinking of "firing him/her." What can you  suggest?

Complainers are good and rarely should you cut them loose.  Most people who are dissatisfied just stop doing business with you.  The complainer will stay with you if you fix the matter properly.  At our seminars I will give you six ways to turn complaints into opportunities.

We want to let our customers know that we  have implemented enhanced customer service strategies.  What do you suggest?

I suggest that companies avoid clichés such as “we exceed your expectations every day" or "our goal is to never let a customer down."  We do not market our service strategies, you just deliver them and your customers will know that they are getting all that they expect.  When someone tells me "it is our goal" I think to myself: come back when you are there.

We are having a problem with shop lifiting and our security company said we must post signs showing that we prosecute shop lifters.  What are your thoughts?

In our seminars we examine all types of signs that are typically used and have positive approaches that send the right messages to your customers.  We know that loss prevention is a major problem….but so is customer retention.
